How to get to a fellowship meeting during Storm Sandy

Posted Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2012

If you need to get to a meeting during Storm Sandy, you can reach out via online while still staying safe at home.

According to The Weather Channel, Sandy has lost its tropical characteristics and the National Hurricane Center has now classified the system as “post-tropical.” This doesn’t mean anything in terms of impacts, however. Damaging winds, coastal flooding and more is still expected and occurring on the east coast.

Sandy made landfall as a post-tropical cyclone on the southern coast of New Jersey near Atlantic City at 8 p.m. with top sustained winds of 80 mph. Now that Sandy is no longer officially a hurricane, The Weather Channel is calling the system “Superstorm Sandy.”

To stay safe indoors but also stay connected to your recovery fellowships, there are still options.

According to InTheRooms, those still with power can stop in for a Live Global Video Meeting.

In The Rooms is a social network for the global recovery community. It’s open to those in recovery, friends and family of someone in recovery and those with loved ones who are in need of help with alcoholism, drug addiction, prescription drug addiction, gambling addiction, eating disorders and more.

You can click here to join the community.
