Shadoe Stevens celebrates 30 years sober

Radio personality Shadoe Stevens is celebrating three decades of sobriety.

The former host of the “American Top 40” radio show spoke on Oprah: Where are they now? about his yearly celebration of sobriety.

“I gave up drugs and alcohol… 30 years ago, thinking that my life was over,” Stevens said. “Clearly, I didn't know what I was talking about.”

Stevens involves his wife and two daughters in acknowledging his recovery annually.

“We celebrate every single year… [and] every Sunday from that week we go to a meeting together,” said Steven’s daughter Amber.
