‘Brady Bunch’ actress details addiction in new memoir

Maureen McCormick, who played Marcia Brady on the iconic television show “The Brady Bunch,” has published a new memoir, which discusses her drug addiction and struggles with sobriety.

In Surviving Marcia Brady and Finding My True Voice, McCormick discloses that she fought cocaine addiction and eating disorders for years, beginning when she was just 18.

“I sought refuge in seemingly glamorous cocaine dens above Hollywood,” she wrote. “I thought I would find answers there, while in reality I was simply running farther from myself. From there, I spiraled downward on a path of self-destruction that cost me my career and very nearly my life.”

Before going to rehab, McCormick was also bulimic. She credits rehab and her husband, Michael Cummings, for helping her to find recovery.
