Turning Point hosts “Innovations in Addiction with Young People: What Works and Why,” a daylong seminar featuring educational lectures and program exhibitions.
Scheduled from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Friday, Nov. 1, the event features keynote presentations by Alan Schwarz from the New York Times, Dr. Tian Dayton and Dr. Pat Dechello.
The event, to be held at Western Connecticut State University in Danbury, Conn., is geared to counselors, social workers, psychologists, physicians and allied health and prevention professionals. It will provide people with real skills to evaluate and treat young people with a variety of co-occurring illnesses, address the current climate of prescription drugs as gateway drugs, present the role of assessing the true risks of self harm and more.
